We encourage you to add a homeless
pet to your household rather than buying one from a classified
ad seller, roadside seller or pet shop. You

AWARE
member shelters and animal placement groups list their available
pets on the Petfinder web site. These
pet adoption organizations stand behind their pets. If
you have questions they will be there to help you. Humane
care givers get to know their adoptable pets and can share information
with you about their temperament,
health and general needs. Shelters
and rescue groups CARE about the PET and they CARE about YOU. Classified
ad pet sellers, puppy millers and back yard breeders only care
about making money from the animals they sell.
